Hi Everyone,

Well we are coming up to our third Caleb leaders’ day soon – just two weeks away today – on 8th March. This time we are looking at a topic we have called, ‘The Essential Qualities and Unique Style that make Dynamic and Successful Leaders’. Those in attendance will leave challenged to give their all to Jesus for the sake of extending His kingdom and encouraged and enlighted as to their unique leadership style. It should be a great day and we’re really looking forward to it.

We had 27 in attendance last time and are expecting 30 people this time. It will be a bit of a ‘close fellowship’ experience, but I know we’ll get everyone in!

Feel free to contact us either my phone or e-mail if you’d like to find out more information about us and what we offer, have us come to your church or buy some of our material.

You can order all three books detailed on our Purchase page, by sending us a cheque made payable to Caleb Ministries for the appropriate amount. Our books can be bought in either hard copies or as e-books.

Since writing the last blog, we have had our first graduation when 10 of our participants received their certificates of completion. It was a landmark occasion for the ministry and we feel that we have entered a new phase of growth and development. You can see some photographs of this event by clicking on this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/9418715@N06/sets/72157603401631107/ We would very much like to hear from as many of you as possible who read these blogs. So if you would like to join our Caleb ‘e-community’, please click ‘register’ on the top navigation bar and enter your details. Once you have been accepted, you will be able to login as a member. This will allow you to make a contribution to the blog page by adding your own comment or by asking a question. Soon members of our network will also be able to access our free downloads that cover interesting leadership topics that you can read and also listen to as recorded MP3s. Before ending this short blog, here is a poem that may provoke some challenging thoughts:

h4. Are You a Leader or a Follower?

When leaders make a mistake, they say, "I was wrong"; when followers make mistakes, they say, "It wasn’t my fault."
A leader works harder than a follower and has more time; a follower is always "too busy" to do what is necessary.
A leader goes through a problem; a follower goes around it and never gets past it.
A leader makes and keeps commitments; a follower makes and forgets promises.
A leader says, "I’m good, but not as good as I ought to be;" a follower says, "I’m not as bad as a lot of other people."
Leaders listen; followers just wait until it’s their turn to talk.
Leaders respect those who are superior to them and tries to learn something from them; followers resent those who are superior to them and try to find chinks in their armor.
Leaders feel responsible for more than their job; followers say, "I only work here."
A leader says, "There ought to be a better way to do this;" followers say, "That’s the way it’s always been done here."
